Its idyllic lakeside setting offers guests stunning views beyond Lake Rotoroa to the towering peaks of the Taverners Mt. Range. The Gowan River meets the lodge lawn, and stirs thoughts of the brown trout lying in wait for anglers just a few steps away.
Ten beautiful guest rooms with en-suite bathrooms include brass beds with cozy, warm feather quilts. A key factor in your enjoyment at Lake Rotoroa Lodge is the Dining experience. Breakfast and evening meals are served in the elegant dining room. Lunch, (if you are at the lodge at noon) is served in the bar. If you choose, a gourmet picnic will be prepared for your ‘away from the lodge’ adventures. Breakfasts include a variety of freshly prepared options for you each day: toasted muesli with fresh yoghurt, to fabulous pancakes with delicious toppings to the more traditional New Zealand cooked breakfast. Fishing Known as the "El Dorado" of trout fishing. Lake Rororoa is a haven for the sport - sighting ,staling and casting to magnificent trout in crystal clear waters. There are thirty five rivers within an hour's drive of the Lodge and even more if you should fly out by helicopter. The trout typically average 4 to 6 lbs with fish over 10 lbs landed by lodge guests every season. For over twenty years Lake Rotoroa Lodge has been known for bringing together international trout fishermen with some of the finest guides in New Zealand. Great effort goes into ensuring that the finest guides, who are not only excellent river craftsmen but also great companions, are made available to guests who wish to enjoy this spectacular sport. There is wading equipment as well as countless premium brand rods and reels to loan to guests who choose not to bring equipment.
