Overview

El Monte is located 3 hours southwest of Cordoba or 2 hours northeast of San Luis in the hill country as opposed to the flat plains.  It is a full service dove and pigeon hunting lodge with outstanding accommodations and a friendly, hospitable team dedicated to service and making this hunt and stay a memorable one.

Non-shooting guests are welcome to enjoy fly-fishing, hiking, biking, or touring captivating villages, local artisans or even a private olive oil plantation or small vineyard. Upon request, a visit to a private estancia can be arranged, where the staff will put together a delicious lunch, accompanied by wines from the neighboring province of Mendoza, known for its great vineyards. After lunch, guests can relax by the creek in a hammock or enjoy a walk.

Dove & Pigeon Shooting

North of San San Luis Province, close to Las Palomas village and nestled in the beautiful Comechingones Hills, a natural border between Cordoba & San Luis Provinces visitors will find over 35,000 acres of the finest wingshooting they'll ever experience. Specializing in dove pass-shooting & pigeon shoots, El Monte Outfitters is serious about providing an exceptional hunting experience for its guests.

El Monte guests will be shooting at the best flyways around two valleys. Hunting fields are either close to low forest extensions or around an exclusive area where crops are planted on irrigated land. While the season for pigeons runs from mid-April to September, dove season is available year round. You could always squeeze in a perdiz shoot.

How to get there

El Monte is accessible for travelers with international flights arriving in Cordoba or Buenos Aires, followed by either a domestic flight or a charter (direct) flight.   Also van or mini-bus transfer is a suitable option for guests arriving in Cordoba (3 hour drive) or San Luis (2 hour drive). There's an option for everyone. You could be dove shooting the day of your arrival.

Accommodations

The Lodge has a cozy living room with a fireplace and offers a magnificent view of beautiful, established gardens and surrounding hill country.  El Monte is located in Yacanto Village. It was originally built in 1900 by British railroad engineers as a summer residence. Up-dated in 2004, this house was turned into a beautiful hunting lodge accommodating up to 12 guests. There are 6 bedrooms with private bathrooms and  either 2 twin beds or a king sized bed.

Optional Big Game

You can add some more hunting options to your dove & pigeon shooting trip.

El Monte offers a variety of wing shooting packages combined with big game hunts at another property closer to San Luis and the Airport.

The big game hunting guide and host invites you to stay at his new lodge just 2 hours away from El Monte, in San Luis Province. Trophy quality heads, including SCI super red stag trophies. Other species include: Water Buffalo, Wild Boar, Blackbuck Antelope, Fallow Deer, Axis Deer, Feral Goat, Feral sheep, Muflon and Dorset Ram.

All the programs are tailored to the hunters’ main interest and are part of an all inclusive system. The lodge is located 30 minutes away from San Luis Airport.
