click hereCasa Blanca is on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico and is as close to an angler paradise as you will find. The lodge sits on the northern tip of a small coastal island in the western Caribbean called Isla Punta Pajaros. Casa Blanca has established itself as one of the world’s finest light tackle fishing lodges. Its incomparable location, one of a kind fishery, superb facilities, delectable fare, outstanding equipment and professional staff are some of the reasons why. There is a unique combination of environments which make for ideal habitat for a wide variety of animal and sea life. Casa Blanca is considered the region's premier destination.
The actual lodge was the former staff quarters for coco plantation workers.Casa Blanca has ten rooms, all with large baths, ceiling fans, and 110-volt outlets that accommodate all US appliances. Every room is one with a view. Each room has a different layout to accommodate individual or group needs. The lodge also boasts a 100 yard long concrete pier. Under the lights at night you will find cruising tarpon and permit. Some of the best fishing happens right off the pier. The Caribbean is only 100 feet away; all rooms are seaside, spacious, well appointed, and air conditioned, The tile floors, mahogany shutters and spacious baths complete the comfortable and beautiful accommodations. In the main lodge you will find a fully stocked bar and an accommodating bartender. Margaritas are the house specialty, but only a lucky few receive a scorpion garnish. Drinks are moderately priced and guests may choose to run a tab for the week. The dining-room menu varies incorporating chicken, fresh fish, conch, lobster and of course, steak. The house specialty is fresh Caribbean seafood. You will always find the day’s catch simply and skillfully prepared. Garnished with native fruits and vegetables, all as asthetic as they are delicious. All meals are served in the lodge’s waterfront dining room, at beautifully set tables, by professionally trained staff. And YES, you may drink the water. All drinking water and water used for ice is purified using the “reverse osmosis”.
The reef supplies food and shelter to a variety of baitfish and small crustaceans which in turn attract larger predatory fish. It also protects the shore-side fishery from full ocean swells. The coral heads absorb the brunt of the waves allowing the flats to remain calm even when the reef is being pounded by a storm swell. A wide variety of under fished species inhabit the waters of Ascension Bay. They will test the skill of even the most experienced anglers. Barracuda top of the list. They are perhaps the most exciting fish on the flats. They will attack a fly or lure; they are large and ferocious fighters! In addition to Cuda you will also find Jack, Shark and Snapper. Definitely plan to pursue a few of these other exciting species in addition to the Bonefish, Tarpon, and Permit for which this area is noted. Much of the fishing is done from 16ft Dolphin Skiffs, but wade fishing is also common. Catch and release fishing is the rule for the primary species. Casa Blanca has some of the region’s most experienced guides that are well suited to both beginning and expert anglers alike.

Other than remarkable fishing, this peninsula offers beautiful beaches and sunshine. You may also want to take a trip to see some of the Mayan ruins- not far from Casa Blanca Lodge.
Playa Blanca- also on the Yucatan Peninsula and owned by the same outfitter, is another option. It is10 miles south of Casa Blanca on Isla Punta Pajaros . Playa Blanca Adventure Resort offers world class facilities to the traveling angler as well as the adventure traveller.
Espirtiu Santo Bay is loaded with bonefish, permit and tarpon. Some other species anglers might try their skill with are snook, jacks, snapper, triggerfish and BIG barracuda. Laguna Santa Rosa is famous for its year round juvenile tarpon population as well as some excellent bonefishing and sometimes great great snook fishing. The Caribbean surf offers up a variety of fishing opportunities, best of which might be fishing top-waters or big metal lures for GIANT barracuda. How big is a GIANT barracuda? We think 50+ inch Barracuda would qualify. Whether you choose to reserve a Dolphin Skiff & professional fly fishing guide or go it alone, anglers will find this to be a paradise.

This is an adventure resort! You will discover some of the world's best snorkelling over a seemingly endless coral reef, there is back-country kayaking through jungle lagoons, trekking the island’s seaside road, bicycling down remote stretches of beach, or relaxing in a hammock beneath the palms. Exploring nearby Mayan ruins (There are 22 registered archaeological sites, 2 of which are just down the beach from Casa Blanca.) is a true adventure.
