Proposed Itinerary
MondayJuly 15 | Depart USA via morning flight service to Johannesburg, South Africa.
TuesdayJuly 16 | Afternoon arrival Johannesburg. Upon arrival at the airport, you pass through customs and clear any firearms. After clearing customs, you’ll be met by a Madubula representative and taken to dinner and then on to the Michelangelo Hotel.
WednesdayJuly 17 | Spend the morning resting up and getting over any jetlag. In the afternoon, a Madubula representative will take you to Mala Mala Game Reserve (a 4 hour drive – or a one hour charter flight can be arranged for an additional fee). Once at Mala Mala you’ll settle into your accommodations and enjoy dinner before bed.
Thursday and FridayJuly 18 & 19 | Enjoy a photo safari at Mala Mala Game Reserve. Game drives are conducted in open 4-wheel drive safari vehicles in the 40,000 acre private reserve. The rangers are in constant radio communication with one another to keep each other informed about the location of wildlife. Headsets are used for this purpose so as not to interrupt the sounds of the African bush. The 4-wheel drive safari vehicles enable the rangers to leave the road and provide guests with close up game viewing and fantastic photographic opportunities. Night drives, with the aid of powerful spotlights, bring the bush to life at night.
SaturdayJuly 20 | Travel Day. You’ll awake and after breakfast take the drive or charter flight back to Johannesburg. Once there, you’ll either drive or take a charter flight on to the Free State Reserve where you’ll do your hunting safari. This huge concession is located on the Northeastern border of Lesotho, a small country set in the middle of South Africa that is also known as the “Mountain Kingdom”. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy dinner, settle into your accommodations for the duration of your hunt, and rest up before your first day of hunting. |
|
July 20-30 | After a great breakfast made to order daily you will head out for your ‘hunt of a lifetime’. During the course of your 10 day safari, you and your son will hunt with legendary PH, John Abraham. John was the 2007 Dallas Safari Club Professional Hunter of the Year. You’ll enjoy both “stalking” hunts, and blind-based hunts over water holes as you harvest the predetermined list of animals, and any additional animals you wish to harvest. The highlight of the hunt will be the stalk of a mature male lion. The non-hunters are invited to join the hunters for the stalking of plains game as often as they like. We suggest they do so on at least two or three of the days. Other days, we can arrange for day trips to curio shops, visiting Bloemfontein, photo game drives on the reserve, spa visits, and local places of cultural interest (some additional fees may apply for these activities). |
